Getting into the artist you love is the first step you need to take and as the performer I LOVE the kind  of music my artist make and the type of stories it brings across are so different to all other basic videos that are made nowadays.

Extenstion - Frustration of location.

During editing we came to the sudden realisation that many groups from separate classes had also used the location of Kings Cross Fountains. We were saddened as we believed we was the only group that was using this location and so no longer believed our video was unique. Also we believed it fit our genre of house music but realised it was being used in videos for pop music videos that other groups had created.

To overcome this, instead we are focusing on using other locations that we used such as the lighting at Waterloo or the LED lights in Kings Cross so that our video is more original and separate to other groups. We believed it would bore the audience to keep seeing the same location used in videos so we incorporated a series of shots at the LED lights instead of focusing on the fountains at Kings Cross and are therefore using less of those shots.

We want to focus on using Monica at these locations instead of at the fountains.

In todays lesson we continued editing the beginning of the music video, we made Monica (our artist) the main focus of the introduction, and made multiple other changes to the introduction such as changing the arrangements of the clips so that we're using relevant locations before we introduce Monica singing. 

We have also continued to add clips of Monica singing and syncing her mouth to the music.We have achieved a lot in today's lesson, we are aiming to be in media everyday next week till Friday to make sure that our music is finished.

Reflection on editing

Reflection

I am reflecting on editing so far and that has been a bit of a challenge because as a group we have been confused on how to edit but as the weeks and days have gone on with the help of our teachers we have been able to edit much better, at the moment, the editing has been much better because out of lessons group members have come to edit to make it much easier to edit in lessons. As a group we have all contributed to edit which is good thing because we are able to put in our input which will start to reflect in our work. Overall as a group we have been able to work together and edit our music video, but to improve we need to make sure we edit a lot of the music video so we are ready for Friday's deadline.

Changes made whilst editing By Destinni

Whilst editing we have had to make changes, in the beginning our first shots were of Monica's Dad and Rebecca mentioned to us that our first shot should be of Monica because she is the artist. So we switch round the shots and made sure Monica is in the first shot. 

We have taken Rebecca advice on board and changed the shots so that we introduce our artist 'Mons'. We believe that now we have changed the way the beginning the audience will know who the artist is and what the artist is like. I think if we didn't change it the audience watching the video might assume that Monica's Dad who was in the first shot was the artist.

Our first two shots are of Monica in two different settings before her Dad appears dancing. Which is a much better beginning and luckily Monica and her dad are both dancing to the songs beat.

We have just shown the class what we have done so far and we have feedback that we need to work on. 

First we need to make sure we finish off editing our video because we have realised that we are the only group that hasn't edited the whole song the whole way through. So the aim is to make sure we have a full edited music before friday's deadline. 

Secondly we need to add our cut aways in the music video because we need to make sure that we have some cut aways in the video. So by the end of today's lesson (27/11/15) we need to add our cut aways to the music video.

Thirdly Rebecca pointed out that we need to make sure that shots with different outfits in different locations need to be edited a bit better.

We also had some good feedback which was that we have a strong theme of light throughout the video which is good and it is evident throughout. Also we were told that our locations were very good especially the location in Kings Cross with the colourful mannequins.

White Noise Rough Cut

This is our rough cut of Disclosure Ft Alunageorge White Noise. In our rough cut we have showed that we have still a lot of work to do. We have found editing quite challenging because first we didn't name all our shots we were going to use before editing. This would have made the editing much more easier. However we have had our moments of confusion of doing our base tracks and editing them. But throughout our editing we know where there can be improvements. Which we have taken into consideration and have made those changes. We now have a better version that needs a little more before the final deadline next week Friday. I think that the rough cut shows how much editing still needed to be done. But with the help  and advice of Rebecca, Marisa and the media technicians we know what we need to do before the deadline.

Extension - Disclosure concert

I will be attending a Disclosure concert. It will give me a up close and first hand view of their performances and will be a educating experience. As they are our original artist, I can view the lighting, props, special effects and performance they give. It will enable me to give a great analysis of the similarities and differences in comparison to our own music video. It will also enable me to learn more about the original artist in terms of the songs they play and the type of people who attend which gives me a clear insight on the audience.

I intend to create another blog post after I attend the concert to display what I have experienced and to portray more ideas.

evaluation of today

 Today we have looked through our footage and arranged the clips we will be using at the beginning of the video, we have realised that we do not have enough establishing shots, and therefore will be taking out the camera to film some more shots.

My feedback has shown me that my grade has improved well from an d to an A, i just need to follow the given advice to improve my grade to an A.

Extension - Ideas for finalised digipack

Digi-pack ideas.

These two images of our artist Monica were taken during the first day of filming at two different locations in Kings Cross. We choose to take pictures in these locations, not only to display evidence of our filming and locations, but as ideas for images to use for the digi-pack. I believe that the pictures are effective as they display the synergy format we chose to use of the infamous Adidas brand and Monica is also wearing a white outfit in each which links to the title of the song 'White Noise'.

The first image displays Monica standing on a water fountain which displays white lighting. We went through great effort to place Monica in the fountains alongside while using a camera to take pictures. The white fountains links to the concept of our video of using a combination of different light and illuminating colours. Also the pose Monica is doing with her hands is a urban pose which links to our genre of House Music as representing a urban scene. I also believe that the white lighting in the fountains highlight Monica's clothing more and creates a great effect in the image.

The second image also presents our synergy clearly of Adidas. I believe this is another great idea for the front of the CD cover as Monica is standing in front of a location which displays LED lighting. It links to a location we used for a base track.

I belive this is a effective image to use for the back of our CD cover. We took several pictures in this location but I belived this picture was the best to use. Again our synergy is conveyed but also, Monica is alone in the picture which makes her the main focus and also her smile portrays to the audience a sense of happiness and fun which we went to denote in our overall music video.
