Signing off post.
Completion of coursework.
Overall I am relatively happy with my blogging over the course of the work. However, there are some posts I am missing that should have been completed and this is a error I completely take on board. It is evident that timing is a issue I need to improve on in order to receive the best possible grade. Although, I did use a great amount of detail in a significant number of posts, some could have been improved if I had the time. I struggled with completing the ancillary and so ran out of time to go back over my blog and review any that have not been completed.
Final Ancillary products
This is my final digipak product. I have followed the same theme on the front and back panel for consistency, the colours have been consistent throughout all the products, with the same pink/purple/white colour scheme. I have kept the design simplistic yet very fashionable to go with the artists style, it looks a lot more professional and consistent compared to y draft digipak, as my draft digipak didn't include copyright information, the record label logo or a barcode.

Closing Off
I would like to say that this has been a long journey going through the research, planning, construction and production of a music video and ancillary products. If i could change the clocks back i would make sure i was more on top of the blogging and working better as a team. Those would have to be my weaknesses, i learnt a lot with not accepting help and asking for it because if i did my blogs and products would have been much better. I really enjoyed learning the conventions of a music video and the ancillary products and it also showed me the differences between independent and mainstream artists. Thank you.
Evaluation Question 4
Evaluation Question 4
Here are two responses i got from students also doing media studies, this was after we watched the videos. There is feedback i got from one student i didn't get to record say 'i like how you used the green screen and having the lyrics come up, i thought that was a good effect to the music video'. Another one said that ' There is a clear theme of light throughout the music video'. I think with the responses i got, i feel like we should have gotten some criticism on how to develop our video more to make it better. But i think our music video was good, it could have been much better if we had planned better and worked much better as a team. I really believe if we had thought through our plans we could have produced an amazing video.
When we showed our class our music video as a rough cut, they all could see that there was a lot of places in our video which needed improving, such as our base tracks, in a lot of them they were off a bit and we made sure we fixed them and in the end in the final music video the base tracks were lined up correct and were in time. Also we were told that we should have had more footage in which could use to make the video less repetitive. I found that we didn't have enough footage so we weren't able to complete that task.
As i am in a different country i wasn't able to
reach my target audience to see if they liked my products which is a shame because it would have really helped me to understand where i could really improve on and what i could have done better.

Evaluation Question 1
Evaluation Question 1

A lot of what we were influenced by in other music videos we have had to take out or it didn't work well with our music video, There were so many different ideas we thought were going to work and it ended up failing so we dont have any influences from any music videos except the theme of light, so in a lot of house music videos there are bright neon lights evident. I think that's the only thing that influenced our music video and worked well.
Carol Vernallis studied editing and camera work closely in music videos. She observed that the edits were more frequent than film, most stand out as disjuncture and the editing seems to have a rhythmic basis closely to the song. Which we followed because our music video is disjuncture because we wanted our music video to stand out. We didn't challenge Carol Vernallis' theory.
Andrew Goodwin mainly focused on pop music videos, and because our video was a House Music video i saw similarities and we again didn't challenge the theory because our artist did often directly look into the camera.
Here in the music video our artist Mons is directly staring into the camera when she is performing the song.
Although we didn't challenge the conventions of the house genre in some way we did by trying to be different to the typical house music videos people enjoy watching, also we used different locations and different camera angles which we embedded into the music video.
My ancillary products are conventional in the sense that they follow the rules and also they look like any ancillary products you seen online and in store. The website doesn't look like other house music artists websites, theirs are more elaborate and eye catching. Where as mine isn't as elaborate as it should be and it should look like it would suit the genre type. My DigiPak looks a little basic so i think it is very conventional, its very bland mainly the colour scheme which lets it down a lot.
In my ancillary products i've used bold text types to make the product look more eye catching. Also made surre that all the important text was visible because if it isn't visible then it would let down the products a lot. I've decided to challenge going over board with the products because i believe if it is too much the target audience and anyone else looking at the product wouldn't want to waste any time looking at it and even buying it.
